Sad Autumn Song

So sorry for the many months of blog neglect. Life got busy, though mostly in a good way. This is actually a poem I wrote a while ago, but newly revised. Thought I should post it while we're still in the fall.

Sad Autumn Song

Fallen

leaf,

breeze

carrying you

in slow 

circles

till you reach

the soft earth.

Memories

of your brightest

green

shine on me

with the autumn sun,

sweet summer, 

gone,

and after a

last burst of

gold

you fade,

the wind weeps

and you're gone,

how I yearn to reach

for you as you

fall away;

but I can only

watch as 

you go down 

and become 

one with

the 

roots.
